b-b-b-bored....

class starts at 11 everyday, and i wake up at 8...
everyone's either at school, still asleep, or too far away..
this is the only time i'm actually bored and/or lonely, but its still pretty sad...

but enough emo-ing, i read this last night:

"The Lord will keep you from all harm-

happy happy birthday!!

yesterday was my birthday, had lots of fun.
i thought i wasn't going to, but midnight last night my friends suddenly jump into my room with a cake,
and started singing "happy birthday"!!
wow, very touched by them and the cake was good ( they made the cake themselves, i have no idea how)
apparently, part of the grocery shopping we did the day before wasn't exactly for dinner.. haha

but since it was sunday, we went to church again.
the elders had a meeting so some church friends brought us to a "Sarawak Kampua" stall.
It was the closest thing i've ever gotten to sarawak food here, and the laksa was AWESOME.

then we went to Mid Valley together.
and i finally found a book i was looking for since last november XD
yeah, i was gonna pay for it but then wan ying cut queue and paid it for me. haha, surprise again!
turned out they were gonna give it to me as a present..

For dinner they tried to order pizza behind my back, i think that was very sweet of them.
But its when u hear someone talking on the phone about "crusts" and "regular" and "what flavour do u want?", u probably what its about right?

So this year's birthday was awesome! thx girls!

Exciting + Scary

昨天去了第一次的 club meeting.
Sunway doesn't hav any music club or band so i joined
Culture Club

其实没有想象中的那样，只去一次会议就报名参加 field trip 了
所以来临的拜六我就会去KL tower, KLCC & Petaling Jaya wooo~~

二月份还有一次，会去到马六甲！！
包车费才RM60，是蛮不错的 =）
应该会有horse riding, boat riding, & archery 的活动
我们还有打算要去那里的Taman Mini Malaysia，看看马来西亚的各种文化。

Alot is happening XD

i just got back from watching 天天好天! Its an awesome movie, one of the few to make me cry =D
I was originally going to go with my coursemates but somehow ended up with wan ying, michelle n valerie. Oh well, still had a great time anyway.

Tomorrow's Thaipusam (its great to have it as a holiday btw) and i'm going to Sunway Pyramid, again..
But at least its a break from what i've been doing these few days. Classes have started for a week now, and homework is coming in :(

I did my first lab today ( Mr. Q is soooo nice) and i had to rent lab coats for me and Kabitaa from my seniors, and also fellow Sarawakians: Cheery and Ee Jing. When i was returning these, i also met Cheery's housemates, 2 Korean girls and Anastasia (Indonesia). I seem to be meeting and forgetting a lot of people now. I can't help it, i hav difficulty remembering names dammit.

And what else? oh, athirah just reached KL a few days ago, skyped with her the other day and she's going through exactly what i did when i first got here ( not a good place to be) . Hui Zen invited me to go to some fellowship thing at Acts Church, and Xin managed to convince me to join the CIMP Culture Club. So i'm probably going to go to KL tower on a field trip or something like that, yay!!

Today's also the first CIMP assembly for this sem, we had to vote for the student council president and vice president. I just chose the ones who seemed fun XD

A lot seems to be happening now, and i haven't even been here 2 weeks! But its not all fun, for ENG4U, i'm being forced to read some essays on PUNCTUATION!! Seriously, how can ANYONE be sooo obssessed over punctuation?? i mean, to heck with the colons and semicolons! I don't care what people can say about them, there's never gonna be anything on God's green earth that's gonna make me write a thesis about them.  And my Functions class is a little something like this:
Mr Anton: So how are you today?
Some Iranian Guy: Fine
Mr Anton: Oh don't worry, its gonna get much worse

But class is still fun since its CIMP (the ppl here are the loudest in the campus)


And about that trip to Sungei Wang last weekend, i bought all my cny outfits already yay!
And walked all the way to Times Square when we were done. Went to church for the first time last Sunday too. Met some familiar faces there cz a lot of them are from miri =D
The pastor there is 陈天才牧师. For those of you who know him, u'll know what that service might have been like lol.

Everything's soo expensive..

Yay, the weekends are finally here!! will be going to Sungai Wang tommorow with my friends.

So today i went to meet some people to buy second hand stuff from them. Now i don't actually KNOW these people, i just saw their names on the board wanting to sell their books so i just called them to buy it.
One Iranian guy sold me the Ti-84 calculator for less than half its original price and i ended up agreeing to help him with english =.=  ( he's so nice i cant say no, ok? )

Anyway, i totalled the money i've spent so far and its about.......... RM 680 I think? and that's in one week people.

But the bright side of things is that my lecturers are really nice.
There's Mr. Q that teaches me Bio and he's kinda hot i guess ( i mean he's young, funny and an ang mo, come on)
And Mr. Anton teaches Advanced Functions. He's an old bald guy who sounds pretty boring. BUT he randomly says "Yay!!" when he teaches, so yeah, that's pretty interesting. XD
And Mr Morgan is the ENG4U teacher. Now i think this guy's pretty complex. He's been to 3 uni courses and quit all of them before he took up teaching. And the creepier thing is that the lecturer to teach my class before him is HIS MOTHER.

So that's about it for my lecturers (yes, i only have 3) and ENG4U is actually VERY hard.. so if anyone is thinking about it, please , please dont' get cocky ( like i did)

My Uni Life

Ok, so i finally created a blog so that people (hopefully my friends in miri) can know what i'm doing here at college.

I'm gonna make this brief so i don't bore anyone to death

Day 1: Reach KL and shop like i'm moving house, i mean, like SERIOUSLY moving house. Luckily, i have an aunt here that helped us out a lot. Start missing Miri

Day 2: Start missing home after my mom left, and start thinking my hostel is like some abandoned place coz i cant seem to find ANY of my housemates. But good news is i met my old friends, Wan Ying and Michelle =D

Day 3: First day of Orientaion. Wow. First thing i did was freak out when i went into a classroom full of international students. 0.o
After that there's this big assembly with all new students and den in the afternoon my first test at CIMP (that's my programme) its the English Placement Test and its really friggin' hard. If you fail it, you stay 1 more sem, if u pass, den u either go into ENG4U (accepted at uni) or ENG4C (sorry, only college)
Night time, i realize i totally have no internet access and i hav no contact with my friends =(

Day 4: Second Day gets better, course briefing in the morning ( i took Bio and Advanced Functions) AND I'm told i got ENG4U O.O
During course selection i made a bunch of friends =) all from msia, brunei and asia..
After that is the library orientation, why would a library nid orientation? becoz its 2 STOREYS big.
afternoon is clubs & societies and i joined... choir?

 Day 5: Best day so far, met ppl from Egypt, Iran, Sudan, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Maltnese( i dont know how to spell that), Seychelles, Indonesia, Singapore..............
its also the first time we (me, fui thin, wan ying, n michelle ) cook
we didn't burn anything down, we got 3 dishes out, but we did get smoke everywhere XD

Day 6: I FINALLY GOT MY ACCOUNT FIXED!! yes!!!
First day of classes and i'm loving my lecturers. I've only got 3 subjects now and hav to make new friends again cz the friends i made the last few days mostly aren't in my classes.
Again, my classes are full of international students but they don't seem so scary now. Quite friendly actually
btw my washing machine is still totally broken but i don care anymore, hooray!
AND i found ppl who can sell me second hand books. that's like a really big help cz my bio textbook cost like rm300
